READERS and councillors have reacted after a vehicle veered off a “treacherous” road leaving a teenager in a life-threatening condition. Essex Police were called to Creeksea Ferry Road, in Canewdon, after a black Ford Fiesta left the road and crashed into a ditch at around 1.50am. An 18 year-old woman was subsequently taken to hospital after reportedly sustaining chest injuries and is described as being in a life-threatening condition. The road was quickly closed by Essex Police so officers could begin to carry out investigations into the horrific incident. Laureen Shaw, Rochford councillor for the Roche North & Rural ward, sent her well-wishes to everyone impacted by the incident.
