Blackburn Magistrates Court. A WOMAN who brandished a knife during a neighbour dispute has escaped a jail sentence after taking the chance given to her by the courts. Blackburn magistrates heard sentence had been deferred when Michaela Louise Ferren pleaded guilty to possessing a knife in public, and criminal damage. And Deputy District Judge Stuart Boyd said he was pleased she had grasped the opportunity offered. You have engaged with the mental health services and there have been no further incidents since August, which is what was asked of you, said Deputy District Judge Boyd. You should be aware that if you come before the courts for a second knife offence the starting point is a mandatory six-month prison sentence.

The Times reported in 2019 that Wesson helped Koreatown developer Michael Hakim win city approval for a planned 27-story residential tower while his son, Herb Wesson III, was living in an apartment building owned by a company where Hakim is listed as an executive.
Wesson III went more than five years without receiving a rent increase in Unit 4 at the building, according to a Times analysis of city rent records. Three people who lived in the building over the past decade told The Times they were aware that the younger Wesson was receiving a rent break and that it was provided because his father was a councilman.

Somerset Police had to evacuate at least two homes Sunday night as Rosewood Avenue and Richards Court flooded due to torrential rains. SPD
Pulaski County Emergency Management/911 Director Aaron Ross is reporting that government officials have called upon the Red Cross to help citizens who have been impacted by the flooding which hit the county Sunday.
According to Ross, county agencies had conducted a total of four high-water rescues by 10:15 p.m. â one from a home and three others from vehicles.
The City of Somerset, he continued, has evacuated several residents in the vicinity of Rosewood Avenue and Richards Court.Â
