His suspected victim Mary Bastholm, 15, who vanished in 1968, is feared buried in its basement in Gloucester.

Police are digging just half a mile from Fred West’s notorious Cromwell Street home.
They are excavating the basement of a cafe where she worked as a waitress and the serial killer was a regular customer.

Police are searching for a body at a cafe in Gloucester linked to the case of a missing teenager who was feared killed by Fred West.
Gloucestershire Police said they had found evidence that a body could be buried within The Clean Plate café in Southgate Street, Gloucester, and are linking it to the disappearance of 15-year-old Mary Bastholm.
Mary was reported missing on January 6, 1968 and has never been found.
Serial killer West, who died in prison in 1995 aged 53, was previously suspected over her disappearance.

Monica, born in nearby Middlesbrough, will star with Eddie Marsan in ITV’s The Thief, His Wife and The Canoe. Filming began in Seaton Carew yesterday and Monica, 52 – who was seen at a bus stop in a grey wig – said it “tells the story of surely the most outrageous fraud of modern times”.
