Animal stories on tap at New Salem Public Library
NEW SALEM Storyteller Rona Leventhal will share multi-cultural tales about animals at the New Salem Public Library on Saturday, July 17, at 6:30 p.m. as part of this year’s summer reading program.
Attendees are advised to bring a blanket or chair to this free outdoor event.
Orange Town Hall Restoration Committee resumes active fundraising
ORANGE With the COVID-19 pandemic waning, the Orange Town Hall Restoration Committee has resumed regular meetings, as well as active fundraising for a new lighting system for the Ruth B. Smith Auditorium stage.

Friday: Music in the park
ORANGE Music in the Park returns this summer to the “Friendly Town” as the Orange Community Band, under the baton of Stephanie Parker, will be performing a series of four outdoor concerts on the band stand in Butterfield Park. Scheduled dates for the free concerts are Friday evenings, July 9, 16 and 23, at 7 p.m. Please note this is an earlier start time this season. Concerts will be approximately one hour with no intermission. On Friday, July 30, Marty’s Reminisce orchestra will perform music from the ’40s, ’50s and more on the bandstand.

Musical Storytime with Powers Music: 11 a.m.-noon July 10, Program Room/Outside. Join staff and students from Powers Music School for some live music and storytelling! Best for ages 3 and up. Registration required.
Mini Masterpieces: 10:30 a.m.-noon July 14, Program Room/Outside. Paint along with Miss Christine and create this shark fin scene on a mini canvas (or use the supplies to do your own thing!). Open to grades 3-5. Registration required.
