PELHAM Many people in the company of their dogs have taken to trails in Pelham during the pandemic.
But with the increased exploration of these natural areas has come concerns about owners not controlling their pets, and dogs accosting other walkers and dogs.
When annual Town Meeting convenes Saturday, voters will consider a petition to require dogs to be leashed on public trails or private trails used by the public from 10 a.m. to dark, rather than to be just under voice command. ....

Cecil Rhodes statue decision delayed for second time

A decision over the future of a statue of British imperialist Cecil Rhodes has been delayed for a second time.
But a spokeswoman said no date had been set for the report as the work was taking a little longer than expected .
In a statement to the BBC, she added it was the final stages of the commission s work that had caused the second delay.

A report had been due to be published in January but the commission delayed it until the spring due to a considerable volume of submissions . ....

CALLS for the removal of statue of 19th century imperialist Cecil Rhodes from the side of Oriel College have led to an inquiry, soon due to give its verdict.
The inquiry was set up in the wake of protests last summer to investigate the background of the statue, the grade-II listed building it sits on, and why people living in Oxford think it should be removed.
The inquiry was originally going to report its findings this month (January), but has pushed back its publication date until the Spring.

Cecil Rhodes statue inquiry findings are delayed

They added that restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic had also disrupted the group s work.
Campaigners want the statue removed because they say Rhodes, a 19th Century businessman and politician in southern Africa, represented colonialism.
Following protests which saw thousands of people gather in Oxford s High Street to demand its removal last year, the governors of Oriel College voted to take it down, reversing the decision they made in 2016.
The future of a plaque in King Edward Street, off High Street, which is dedicated to Rhodes, remains uncertain.
According to the Guardian, the college has been in discussions with Historic England in recent years about the possibility of the plaque being listed. ....
