“The pandemic has been hard on everyone, especially people whose immune systems were already compromised. It is those groups of people who have become our biggest customer base,” she added. “We are seeing customers we haven’t seen in a long time, and now they’re coming back more frequently.”
The store at 3141 W. Roosevelt Road sells a variety of products, such as vitamins, vegan items, supplements for diabetes and soaps. In addition to the revenue increase, Barney-Sutton said it has helped that her business owns the store building. The business did not apply for any grants or loans and has not had to lay off any of its five employees.
