READERS have given their thoughts after Cumbria Police have said they believe residents have welcomed their dog fouling patrols across Furness. Police community support officers and community officers have been teaming up with environment officers from Street Care, as part of their plans to clamp down on the issue. The patrols have been carried out in highlighted areas. These include Walney, Dalton, Askam and Roanhead. This is what our readers had to say: Ray Maddox said: Nope the only way to stop the problem is to fine people, and for a change I think the public would agree to have dog wardens out at all times that receive bonus for everyone they fine.

2020 started off remembering a hero in the Coastal Bend; Corpus Christi police officer Alan McCollum’s life was tragically taken following a traffic stop on Highway 358. McCollum and another officer were struck by a drunk driver.
