Presentation by Former Mossad Agent in Operation Brothers
Saratoga Springs Congregation Shaara Tfille and The Jewish Community Center of Saratoga Springs will host a presentation from former Mossad Agent Yola Reitman. Reitman will share her leading role impersonating a diving instructor of ‘Operation Brothers’ to rescue Ethiopian Jews. This virtual event will be direct from Israel on Sunday, May 23 at 3 p.m.
Reitman was recruited by Israeli intelligence agency, the Mossad, to lead the rescue of thousands of Ethiopian Jews who had fled famine and war into neighboring Sudan.
Reitman played a key role in the mission which was fictionalized in a Netflix feature film titled “The Red Sea Diving Resort.”
In a new video uploaded to the Apple TV+ YouTube channel, viewers can get an insider s look into what it s like to be a real spy, and see how they are utilized in Apple s spy thriller Tehran.
Yola Reitman, a former spy, sat down with Apple to discuss the methods spies use to gather crucial information. The video features spliced in footage of Apple s Tehran. Reitman begins by telling a story of how she was able to obtain secret information while in spy training, involving tricking a cab company into giving her the address of one of the drivers. When you want to recruit someone for an undercover mission, you re looking for certain traits, Reitman explains. [T]he ability to play act and to impersonate someone else. If you don t have that, then all the rest is immaterial after that.

Apple TV+ Promotes their Series Tehran with a Conversation with a Real Israeli Spy
In late September Patently Apple posted a report covering Apple s Behind the Scenes video for their Political Thriller Tehran. In early December we learned that Season 2 was in the works. Julien Leroux, CEO and founder of Paper Entertainment briefly spoke with Variety: I can say that we are working on the second season, of Tehran for Apple TV+. Technically It’s not been officially green lit, but we are working on it, so hopefully we’ll have some good news by the end of the year.
