The Martha s Vineyard Times Mediation program offers âProductive Conversationsâ course In a series of conversations hosted by the M.V. Mediation Program, youâll learn about conflict resolution, reflect on family conflict history, and learn conflict resolution tools to use as a family. This program is geared toward families with older adults, or multigenerational families. The series takes place on Zoom on upcoming Saturdays, including May 22, 29, and June 5 and 12. There is no cost for the program, which is funded by a grant from MV Bank. The theme titles are Lifelong Conflict Concepts on May 22; Conflict Styles on May 29; Positions and Interests on June 5, and Values, Needs, Identity, Feelings on June 12. ....
The Martha s Vineyard Times State financing comes through for Perlman House Now the final piece has come through, $1.2 million in anticipated financing from MassHousing for the seven-unit housing development in Vineyard Haven that includes a mix of affordable and workforce rental units. IHT transformed the former Clark House, located at 20 Edgartown–Vineyard Haven Road, into the apartments, and named the building after the previous owners. “With a significant need for affordable housing for year-round residents on Martha’s Vineyard, we are very pleased to be a partner in this effort to develop seven new rental homes for moderate-income families on the Island,” MassHousing executive director Chrystal Kornegay said. “We commend Island Housing Trust for its commitment to providing housing and economic opportunities on the Vineyard, and congratulate them on completing this important project.” ....

The work featured in the MV Times is a testament to their passion and their ability to inspire their students no matter what the circumstances. As to the students, I am invariably impressed by the depth of talent in our high school every year there is a new, wildly eclectic group of artists in all media ready to surprise us. Last, I would like to commend The MV Times (and the MV Bank) for dedicating a whole section of the paper to the high school art classes. In times of stress, what helps carry us through are the arts … whether visual, theatrical, musical, or cinematic, and the paper covers them all. ....

Geoffrey DeMeritt Martha’s Vineyard Public Schools (MVPS) will soon be able to provide at-home COVID saliva testing for students and staff. In what has been a long haul for school planners and health officials, the surveillance-pool testing plan from Mirimus Clinical Labs that was accepted by education officials in November has fully satisfied its funding requirements. Through both public and private donations, the overall $462,150 price tag is significantly cheaper than the initial proposition to test all students and staff who enter school buildings. ....
