(Bloomberg) The unprecedented shutdown of one of the largest U.S. pipelines after it was crippled by a cyberattack has triggered warnings of major disruption to fuel supplies and concern that its restart will be neither quick nor straightforward.
Colonial Pipeline turned off key systems late Friday after an attack involving ransomware, and was still down late Saturday. There are few precise details about what happened at Colonial, which says it normally transports about 45% of all the fuel consumed on the East Coast and in the Northeast. It says it’s working to return to normal. Various branches of the U.S. government are monitoring the situation.

Mr Adams said: “I would say thank you to everybody who voted for me. It is a good turnout and I hope it adds credence to the role. It is important.
“I would like to thank Matthew Ellis and his depury, Sue Arnold. They have done this job for eight years and were asked to stay on for another year. I know they have worked hard for the people of Staffordshire and they have left us in a really good position.
“We have a great police force and great fire and rescue service. They are hard-working, professional and caring people. I know everyone really values what they do for us.
