James Jeffrey, 45, of Cherry Orchard Road, West Molesey was sentenced to five years in jail yesterday (Tuesday, May 11) at Kingston Crown Court, following an investigation by Surrey Police’s Paedophile Online Investigation Team. Jeffrey had tried to outwit officers by refusing to cooperate when police tried to access PIN protected phones. But Surrey Police said he was naive if he thought he could evade justice for his appalling crimes.

In a public appeal, Surrey Police said that 43 year-old Mark Adkins was last seen on Friday, May 7 as they sought to recruit the public s help in their search for him. However, without offering additional context the Surrey Police spokesperson also urged people not to approach Mark if they sighted him, implying it might not be safe to do so.
