That s according to a new analysis of America s largest 100 hospitals titled How America s Top Hospitals Hound Patients with Predatory Billing. The report, issued last week by researchers at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health and the news website Axios, found that during the period of study Mayo Clinic Hospital-St. Marys Campus took court action against 904 individuals in pursuit of $4 million in total unpaid bills.

February 12, 2021 Participants in the CABANA trial who had stable heart failure mostly with preserved ejection fraction in addition to atrial fibrillation (AF) at baseline fared better when they underwent catheter ablation than when they were started on medical therapy alone, a detailed subgroup analysis shows. Those randomized to ablation had lower risks of mortality, the primary composite outcome of the trial (death, disabling stroke, serious bleeding, or cardiac arrest), and AF recurrence, as well as improved quality of life, according to researchers led by Douglas Packer, MD (Mayo Clinic Hospital St. Marys Campus, Rochester, MN), principal investigator for the trial.

Author: A man is in custody in Rochester after police say he was the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that injured a woman on Tuesday afternoon.  Rochester PD reports that the 21-year-old driver was eastbound on Center Street near Civic Center Drive when his Honda Element struck a 58-year-old woman who was crossing the street.  The driver didn t stop, fleeing the scene. The woman was transported to Mayo Clinic St. Marys Campus in Rochester where she was treated for minor injuries.
