Suspect in Trigg deaths investigation arrested

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio Jul 9, 2021 | 3:03 PM A suspect in the investigation of two people found dead at a home on Cerulean Road in Trigg County last Saturday has been arrested. Kentucky State Police say 29-year old Landon Stinson of Cadiz was located and arrested in Los Angeles, California Monday afternoon. Detectives from KSP Post 1 traveled to Los Angeles to interview Stinson in connection with the deaths of 75-year old Mildred Sue Faris and 28-year old Matthew Blakeley, who each died from gunshot wounds. Stinson is currently being held at the Los Angeles County Jail on California charges and has been served with a Trigg County warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

Bodies discovered in Trigg County

The bodies of Mildred Faris, 76, and Matthew Blakeley, 28, of Cadiz, were discovered Saturday morning at a residence off Cerulean Road in Trigg County. A press release from Kentucky State Police Post 1 said preliminary results from autopsies conducted on the bodies determined the pair died of gunshot wounds. Autopsies were conducted Monday at the Western Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville. The post continues to investigate the shootings, with KSP Detective David Dick leading that investigation. The two bodies were discovered Saturday morning, with Post 1 dispatch receiving a call at about 8:45 a.m. Detectives with Post 1 are also searching for Landon W. Stinson, 29, of Cadiz, who is being sought for questioning about the two deaths.
