Oregon Legislature approves funding for new home for the School of Art + Design by Karen O Donnell Stein June 28, 2021 Share Architectural concept rendering of planned PSU Art + Design center The Oregon Legislature has approved funding for a new center to house the Portland State University School of Art + Design, a modern facility that will bring together all the Art and Design programs under one roof, creating a central hub for the school. In the final days of the 2021 legislative session, lawmakers approved funding of $68 million through state bonds. The university will raise an additional $5 million through philanthropy to complete the $73 million project, which is expected to be finished in 2024.

Impressive new entrance unveiled at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry New wing at the local hospital is now operational The new entrance to Altnagelvin Hospital. Reporter: ); Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry has a new main entrance. The impressive entrance is part of the new North Wing of the hospital which is now fully operational. It represents a major transformation of the local hospital. As well as the new main entrance, the wing also has six new wards spanning over three floors. The building was designed by local architecture practice, HLM Architects. Three of the 24-bed wards became operational in April of this year as HLM worked with the Western Trust and the contractor to fast-track the project in order to assist the Trust in managing the Covid-19 surge capacity at the hospital.
