One of the soldiers Sergeant Sani Ishaya was sentenced to four years, Bidemi Fabiyi sentenced to two years while Private Musa Bala and Private Abdulraheed Adamu were sentenced to one-year imprisonment each.
Another soldier Mohammed Kudu who is accused of shooting a 12-year-old boy at a wedding is also sentenced to three years imprisonment.
Lance Corporal Aja Emmanuel arraigned for a lone charge of assault has been de-ranked and now a private soldier.

The 7th Division General Court Martial sitting in Maiduguri has sentenced a trooper, Azunna Mmadu-Abuchi, to death by firing squad for killing an officer, Lt. Babakaka Ngorgi.
Delivering judgement on Tuesday, the President of the Court, Brig. Gen. Arikpo Ekubi, said the prosecutor has proved his case beyond reasonable doubt that the accused intentionally shot and killed Ngorgi, who was the Adjutant of 212 Battalion, Bama.
Ekubi said, “You intentionally opened fire and empty your magazine of nine rounds of ammunition on the deceased officer, Lt. B.S Ngorgi, who was the Adjutant of 212 Battalion, Bama, which led to his instant death.

The Nigerian Army 7 Division General Court Martial; has sentenced Private Azunna Mmadu-Abuchi to death, with the jailing of five others for assault and murder.
Mmadu-Abuchi of 212 Battalion shot and killed Lt. Baba Kaka Shehu Ggorgi on July 29, 2020, in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
The other four soldiers to serve their jail terms of 1-3 years, including Sgt. Sani Ishaya, Privates Adamu Abdulrasheed, Musa Bala and Lance Corporal Fabiyi.
While Lance Corporal Aja Emmanuel was demoted to Private for assaulting Rahman Abdalla with his belt in Maiduguri metropolis.

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Sokoto State Command has deployed over 700 officers and men to Churches and recreational centres across the state.
The public relations officer of the command, DSC Hamza Adamu Illeila, disclosed this in a press statement issued to our correspondent in Sokoto.
According to Hamza, “The Sokoto Command of NSCDC under the leadership of CC Umar Musa Bala has deployed 700 officers and men to all the churches and religious centres in the state.
“The deployment consists of uniform and non-uniform officers who will be actively on patrol and intelligence gathering before, during and after Christmas and New Year celebrations.”
