Body of missing teenager at Pineview Reservoir recovered

KSL TV HUNTSVILLE The body of a 16-year-old who didn t make it back to the shore Sunday at Pineview Reservoir has been recovered, Weber County Seach and Rescue Commander Lt. Mark Horton said. The 16-year-old was attempting to swim shore to shore with three friends near Middle Inlet Beach, where the water is about 10 feet deep. When they realized they wouldn t make it all the way, they decided to turn back; however, the teenager didn t return, officials said. Initial reports indicate the teens were not wearing life jackets. Search and rescue officials received the call around 5:45 p.m. on Sunday and kept looking until about 1 a.m. that day. The teams resumed the search at about 8 a.m. using boats, divers, sonar and cadaver dogs throughout the search. The body of the 16-year-old was recovered about 2:30 p.m. on Monday, according to Weber County Lt. Cortney Ryan.
