Dealer news
Midlands Truck & Van’s new Birmingham dealership has opened its doors to its first customers, following a £7m development of the Smethwick site.
The new dealership, built on a seven-acre site formerly a steelworks and plastics factory, has increased space for new and used truck displays as well as more parking for customer vehicles.
Managing Director Steve Hunt declared: “This project has underlined our commitment to keeping businesses moving. We’re very proud of our new dealership, which is right up there with the best in the industry. We’ve already received a lot of positive feedback on the amount of room we have here, as well as on our excellent location close to the M5 and M6 motorways,” continued Hunt.

Much has been developed to improve driver awareness of pedestrians and cyclists in the vehicle’s nearside blind spot, but this doesn’t always help vulnerable road users – especially if they are travelling at speed and go unnoticed by the driver. The bbs-TI, which is
Used Truck of the Day is a Scania R420 with mid-lift axle.
This 6x2 has a full air deflector kit and is finished in a stand-out blue paint.
As well as the mid-lift axle, 420hp engine and twin bunks, it has also been specified with a manual gearbox – not uncommon for vehicles of its age, but certainly something of a rarity now on a 6x2 tractor unit.
