Garland nonprofit donates $50,000 to the city’s emergency home repair program
Those who are eligible for the program can call the city to receive repairs.

The president of the NAACP’s Garland chapter has stepped down from his leadership position with the civil rights group after been appointed to the Garland City Council.
The North Dallas Gazettereports that Ricky McNeal was selected from a pool of 11 applicants to fill the District 1 seat vacated by former council member David Gibbons, who resigned after taking a job as the executive director of the Garland Housing Finance Corporation.
