In a modern reimagining of Ed Spielman’s hit series that starred David Carradine, “Kung Fu” is returning to network television with two unprecedented changes: The lead is a Chinese American woman and the cast is predominantly Asian American, a rarity in the landscape of network television dramas.

A Hawke s Bay man got the surprise of a lifetime after an up-close encounter with one of the Ocean s greatest predators while fishing off the coast of Waipatiki.
Jonathan Joe was on the water about 34km north of Napier with his uncle Alan Young when they spotted what they believe was a great white shark about 11am on Good Friday.
Joe said he spotted a shadow in the water at a depth of 22 metres, before the great white shark revealed itself.

DENVER â De Angelo Tafoya, 22, was killed while waiting for a bus on Federal Boulevard and Alameda Avenue Thursday.
He had a daughter and a family in Denver. He was just an innocent 22-year-old person that was working 84-89 hours a week â a single parent trying to get by, said De Angelo s uncle, Donald Damian. He was the greatest, soft spoken, respectful individual.
According to the police report, two people have been arrested in connection to the shooting, Elias Chavez and Tialoc Chavez, both 22. They ve been charged with first-degree murder. The two were driving with a woman and a child in the car when the shooting took place.
