Announcing his result, the Governor said; “it is with gratitude to Almighty Allah that I inform the general public, particularly the good people of Sokoto State, that the outcome of the several tests I have gone through have all been negative.
“I wish to express my gratitude to my deputy, Hon Manir Muhammad Dan’iya, Walin Sokoto, for ably holding fort while I was in self isolation and going through the mandatory procedures of determining my status.
“My special appreciation also goes to His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto for his fatherly support and guidance through the period, while I thank the clergy for their supplications for my health and safety,” he added.

Tambuwal disclosed this on his official Twitter handle.
It can be recalled that Tambuwal went into isolation due to his close physical contact with personalities who tested positive for COVID-19 during his recent official trips.
According to the governor, during the isolation, he subjected himself to repeated tests by relevant agencies in order to ascertain his status, as required by the COVID-19 protocols.

Amid the dreaded second wave and rising spread of COVID-19 in the country, the Federal Capital Territory Administration and the governments of Lagos and Ebonyi states have banned some large gatherings in their respective domains.
While Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State banned concerts, carnivals, street parties and nightclubs, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, imposed some restrictions and issued fresh safety protocols in their respective areas.
This, they said, was to curb the rising spread of the virus, which rose to 77,013 on Friday. The number of deaths also rose from 1,201 to 1,212.

Sokoto State Government has described the late Military Governor of the old North-Western State, Alhaji Usman Faruk, as the architect of the development in the state.
A statement signed by the acting governor of the state who is also the state deputy Governor, Honourable Manir Muhammad Dan’iya, described his death as a sober and heart wrenching news for the state.
According to the acting governor, “As we announce the idea of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal going into self-isolation earlier today, the sober and heart-wrenching news of the death of the pioneer governor of old Sokoto State, Commissioner of Police (retired) and the erstwhile Jarman Gombe, Alhaji Usman Faruk, came to us.
