Wayne Co. Emergency Management on Facebook
Wayne County Emergency Management announced on Thursday that an overnight shelter has been established by the Red Cross at Cross Creek Church on Canandaigua Rd. in Macedon.
Officials say that the shelter opened at 5 pm and would be welcoming those who are dealing with the continued power outages, as temperatures plummet over the next several days. Forecasters say that this could end up being the coldest stretch of weather seen this winter, which combined with the timing of the power outages makes it a dangerous situation.
The shelter in Macedon will only be open to people and service animals. Those looking for options with their pets can visit PetsWelcome.com for more information on finding those accommodations.
