When Maureen Doherty visited Payne Park last month, she was struck by the sight of something she felt was wildly out of place: an assemblage of trucks parked outside Payne Park Auditorium. Doherty highlighted the incongruity at the May 4 City Commission meeting. The land east of the auditorium features a walking trail, a sunset hill and benches. West of the auditorium, there’s a pond surrounded by landscaping and wildlife. In the middle of it all sat a fenced-in area used to house vehicles and industrial equipment.

Sad passing of remarkable Leitrim woman The late Annette Irwin (nee Redican) Reporter:   ); On Tuesday, February 22, 2021, a remarkable Leitrim woman was laid to rest in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire, England. Annette Irwin (nee Redican), former Councillor and twice Mayor of Newport Pagnell, passed away on Friday, January 29 in Milton Keynes Hospital. Sadly after the long wait for the Mass and burial ceremonies, her siblings, Maureen Doherty, Kilcock, Co Kildare, Andrew Redican, Drumkeerin and Sean Redican, San Pedro Sula, Honduras, were unable to travel and be present at the Mass and burial. However, there was some consolation, that with streaming all three and their families were able to be part (however distant) of the Mass Ceremony.

Virtual CAMFest Goes On! 2020 A Complete Success

CAMFest Days 1-6 of CAMFest Goes On! 2020 week included a pre-recorded video each night to highlight one of the arts programs. The culminating Day 7 featured all DSUSD arts programs in a grand finale presentation. Spotlighted were students during distance learning creating their art, performing their music and dance, acting out plays, and displaying photography, videography and short film projects.  The videos also included flashbacks of previous CAMFests and school performances.
