COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Officials have rescued a person from the Congaree River.
The water rescue operation began around 1:30 p.m. Friday near the Blossom Street Bridge.
According to officials with the Columbia Fire Department, the person is safe and is being cared for by EMS.
Traffic on the bridge was closed during the rescue operation but has since reopened.
