Instead of just hanging out at the house, watching classic car and cooking shows on TV we attended the 16th annual Memories in Monroe Car Show. This was our first time coming to this particular car show; weâve been to many over the years. This one reached a much higher bar. My husband could never be described as a grease monkey, but he does appreciate sleek, fast cars. Frankâs eyes lit up as he gazed longingly at several gleaming, and immaculately maintained vintage sports cars. ....

State appeals court grants new trial in fatal bar attack March 16, 2021 FacebookTwitterEmail BOSTON (AP) The Massachusetts Appeals Court, citing improper conduct by the prosecution, has granted a new trial to a man convicted of killing another man in an unprovoked attack in a Quincy bar. Paul Fahey was convicted of second-degree murder in 2017 for allegedly punching and stomping on the head of Keith Boudreau in the now-closed Home Ice Sports Bar in March 2015. Boudreau, 42, died days later at the hospital. The court in its decision Monday called the prosecutor s missteps “pervasive and in many instances “egregious.” “We agree with the defendant that a new trial is warranted based on the cumulative effect of the prosecutor’s improper cross-examination and inflammatory closing argument,” Milkey said in the decision. ....
33 cats rescued from Monroe home after mail carrier notices some on roof Friends of Companion Animals helps rescue cats from home Published: Tags: MONROE, Mich. – Officials rescued 33 cats from what appeared to be an abandoned home in Monroe after a mail carrier noticed some of them on the roof. Penny Bly, the shelter director of Friends of Companion Animals, said a mail carrier called Monroe County Animal Control after seeing cats on the roof of the home. “Animal control instructed the mail carrier to contact us and after coordinating with MCAC regarding who will take the lead in this endeavor, FOCA volunteers jumped into action and secured the first initial batch of cats, which included seven felines,” Bly said. ....
