Rosen Energy Group, a third-generation Kingston family company that’s been serving the Kingston area since 1875, has been acquired by McDougall Energy Inc. and Group of Companies.
The sale finalizes at the end of the month.

The acquisition expands McDougall Energy’s footprint into new communities that include Kingston, Gananoque, Greater Napanee and the surrounding area, a statement from McDougall Energy Inc. said. Once the acquisition is complete, Rosen Energy will operate under the McDougall Energy brand in its Kingston office.

Formerly Luxurious Ladies Raffle Tickets, there is now a new name and new colours.
The draw is Sept. 21 at 4:30 p.m. (World Alzheimerâs Day) at the Alzheimer Society office.
Tickets are $10 each, with 4,700 tickets available. Proceeds will help to provide services to local persons living with dementia.
Individuals must be 18 or older to purchase and redeem tickets.
To purchase tickets contactless via e-transfer or credit card, call the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District at 705-942-2195 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Sault Star Santa Fund wrapped Thursday, posting a record-breaking $160,864.07. And that figure will increase once a number of later gifts via credit card are tallied early next week.
Gagliardi, who suggested early on in the campaign the fund may only bring in some $70,000 due to the pandemic, said this week that, throughout this yearâs effort, she heard from donors and read in messages accompanying gifts that spare dollars generally directed to commercial seasonal frills were, instead, earmarked for the charity.

Together with the Esso™ Community Program, McDougall Energy Inc. and Edward Fuels (a Division of McDougall Energy) have donated $25,000 toward four local organizations supporting individuals and families over the holidays. Donations will go directly to Kincardine and District Ministerial Food Bank, Walkerton and District Food Bank and Gift Program, Goderich Salvation Army, and Huron Perth Christmas Bureau.
“These organizations are pillars in the community for so many individuals and families who are in need year-round, and they go above and beyond at Christmas to help bring joy and unite families during the holidays,” said Don Edward, General Manager, Edward Fuels (a Division of McDougall Energy). “Edward Fuels is proud of our roots in Goderich and nearby communities since 1945, and together with McDougall Energy, we’re grateful for the opportunity to give back where we live.”
