Things in Northwest Louisiana were nightmarish Tuesday night, especially for 45 people who were stuck on Interstate 20 in Bossier and Webster parishes for six to eight hours. State Trooper Brent Hardy says icy driving conditions led to multiple crashes…
“We had a couple of commercial motor vehicle ended up jackknifed and blocked I-20 eastbound and that led to a 5 to 6-mile backup.”
There were no serious injuries, but Hardy says multiple agencies were needed to assist those trapped overnight.
“Thanks to the help of Bossier City’s Fire Department, Our Troop D Troopers, and Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries we were able to bring them to a location, to Louisiana Downs, since their vehicles are stranded.”
The roads are icy, but what does that mean for our emergency agencies, such as Louisiana State Police and the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD)?
