County Reeve Joe Blakeman said heâs heard from farmers and ranchers about the hardships theyâre facing following the historic heat wave in June and July.

âEverybody is in a world of hurt,â Blakeman said.
âTheyâre getting about the quarter of the hay production they had last year, thereâs no pasture for the cattle they do have, and the cereal crops are starting to head out and theyâre only a foot high.
âThe (cereal crop) heads arenât filling out; itâs the same with canola.â
