At least seven people were arrested in confrontations between police and small groups of pro-democracy activists at two locations in Bangkok on Saturday.
Four people also suffered minor injuries following a small explosion outside Chamchuri Square on Rama IV Road, not long after demonstrators started leaving nearby Samyan Mitrtown, where they had rallied after being dispersed from Victory Monument. It is not known if the blast was related to the protests.

About 120,000 police will ensure security and prevent election fraud during Sunday s provincial administrative organisation (PAO) elections, the country s first local elections in more than six years. We ve ordered provincial police to be be vigilant and keep an eye out for vote buying, especially on Howling Night, deputy national police chief Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittiprapat told media on Friday. Howling night is a term for pre-election vote buying.
Up to 120,000 police have been instructed to ensure things go smoothly and also prevent and arrest anyone involved in election fraud at the 96,000 polling stations throughout the country.

The delay of 1 million room nights for the stimulus campaign because of fraudulent actions has slowed tourism sentiment during the New Year season, says the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn said travellers who wanted to use the government subsidy for their New Year holiday may miss out, as the extension of the stimulus campaign was postponed until an investigation is completed.
