Kyle Schwarber Keeps the Door Open for a Cubs Reunion, But Also Has to Be Ready for a New Opportunity Social Navigation Kyle Schwarber Keeps the Door Open for a Cubs Reunion, But Also Has to Be Ready for a “New Opportunity” Although it remains more likely than not that a non-tender is and was merely a prelude to a departure, it’s not like the Cubs have acquired a new outfielder yet. So, on that basis, if no other, there’s still a chance they could re-up with Kyle Schwarber. When the non-tender happened, there was optimistic talk of maybe eventually getting back together on a multi-year deal with a lower AAV than Schwarber would’ve received in arbitration. Slept very deeply, but also very crookedly, which means I woke up with neck stiffness and pain like the dickens. Sometimes it feels good and right to cock your head to the side when you’re laying down to fall asleep, but then if you wind up cashing out at that moment, you’re gonna stay in that position waaaaay too long. Or so it was with me last night, apparently. • It isn’t quite testy just yet, but you’d have to be blind not to see it coming after last summer: “To be clear, and as we’ve made clear to the league, players are planning on showing up for spring training on time for a full 162-game season as set forth in the CBA and the league’s previously-issued schedule” MLBPA senior director Bruce Meyer https://t.co/3fvNE3Zrd6 ....

Scott Boras said that Kris Bryant will have his chance to hit the market place after 2021.Boras said he has always had great open dialogue with the Cubs.He would not confirm or deny $ amounts being offered to Bryant in the past. ....
Pettigrew attempted to reverse out from the pole but couldn’t. He was found to have a breath alcohol level of 794 micrograms, more than three times the legal limit of 250mcg. Defence lawyer Patrick Mooney said Pettigrew’s last conviction for drink-driving was in 2008, 12 years ago. Mooney said his client was in full time employment, could pay a large fine and accepted he would be disqualified from driving for 12 months. Police prosecutor Sergeant Heath Karlson suggested a sentence of community work could also be imposed but Mooney said Pettigrew worked some weekend shifts, which would make that difficult. Hikaka said Pettigrew’s reading of 794mcg was an awful lot. ....
