Belmont Market to open indoor stalls
The City will provide greater opportunities for traders to sell their wares by reopening Belmont Market’s indoor stalls this month.
The indoor section of the market will host 55 stalls from Sunday 28 February, complementing the 210 outdoor stalls that are currently operating at capacity.
This will be the biggest offering at the market since it was first forced to shut due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.
Greater Geelong Mayor Stephanie Asher said the COVID-Safe reopening of the Barwon Valley Activity Centre was a welcome addition to the booming weekly market.
“Stalls have been booked out by traders’ weeks in advance, with crowds pouring into the market each Sunday for the huge range of goods on offer,” Mayor Asher said.
