CLEVELAND, Ohio During last year’s 60-game sprint, the top of the Indians’ lineup rarely changed. Manager Terry Francona stacked his four switch-hitters Cesar Hernandez, Jose Ramirez, Francisco Lindor and Carlos Santana in the first four spots in the batting order and turned them loose
To opposing pitchers it was the haunted house at the end of the lane. Get through those four hitters with minimal damage and you could spend the rest of the night collecting old-school sized candy bars at the house of your choice as an early Halloween present.

CLEVELAND, Ohio José Ramírez provided the muscle as the Cleveland Indians’ offense came alive late Wednesday afternoon and Shane Bieber delivered his typical steady effort in a 4-2 win against Kansas City.
Ramírez homered twice against Royals relief pitchers, blasting a two-run shot to right field in the eighth off Greg Holland (0-1) after a Ben Gamel walk for what proved to be the winning runs.
Nick Wittgren pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his fifth career save and first since Sept. 4, 2019 against the White Sox. Emmanuel Clase (1-0) struck out a pair of Royals hitters in the eighth and picked up the win, tossing nine pitches that registered 100 mph or more.

It’s the first full FAAB period for the NFBC Main event and it’s time to see who owners have soured on. Two trends I saw were managers dumping a ton of injured or demoted players. Also, bullpen arms were dropped for as situations clear up.
For this analysis, I use the NFBC Main Event because of the number of identical leagues. Additionally, the managers stay engaged longer on the whole since each spent $1700 per team. I tried to find that sweet spot between obvious and bizarre and will focus on players dropped in six to nine leagues.

How long do we see the Luplow and Gamel platoon in center? Who do you think we see there from the alternate site first: Mercado or Johnson?
It will probably be a little while until we see call ups from the alternate site, unless there is an injury. The players in Columbus have yet to play a game since Spring Training ended, and considering the Indians wanted guys like Oscar Mercado and Bradley Zimmer to get more at-bats before they come back up to the big leagues, they may still need some time. Daniel Johnson could be in a different boat since he s not specifically working on making adjustments at the plate, but it seems like the Tribe wants to try the Jordan Luplow/Ben Gamel platoon in center for at least a little longer.
