Another business in downtown Rochester has closed their doors permanently. Legends Bar n Grill made the sad announcement that they wouldn t be reopening on their Facebook page Wednesday night.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Legends will not be reopening. It’s been a tough year dealing with the closures and restrictions placed on us by Governor Walz for the Covid pandemic. We anxiously waited to see what Governor Walz would say in his briefing today and if and when would we be allowed to reopen. The announcement came just a couple days to late. On Monday we received an email from the city of Rochester stating they would be moving forward to terminate our lease in preparation of putting a development plan together for the property in which Legends sits. I want to take a moment and thank all of our amazing customers and staff we have had the pleasure of serving and working with in the almost 9 years we were Legends. With

Legends Bar & Grill employees say curbside pickup and delivery are not enough to survive on

MOORHEAD, Minn. Besides the occasional phone call coming in, it’s unusually quiet inside Legends Bar & Grill in Moorhead.
The restaurant has been closed to dine-in customers since Gov. Tim Walz imposed a four-week shutdown last month.
“We’re exhausted as a business and as employees,” says Legends media specialist and bartender Baylee Engquist. “Not so much on the side of the good exhaustion that we miss of being busy, but the exhaustion of this just continuing to go on and this continuing to extend.”
Mayor Kim Norton said the city gets frequent complaints about violations that can’t always be confirmed.
“We get calls daily about people violating,” she said, suggesting council action should seek to deter businesses from claiming an advantage over others by violating state restrictions.
Olmsted County Public Health closed Dooley’s Pub and Legends Bar & Grill on separate occasions for concerns related to COVID-19 restrictions. Both businesses worked with public health staff to address concerns and reopened.
Staver was joined by council members Mark Bilderback and Patrick Keane in opposing the restriction for future funding, but they were outvoted 4-3.

Catholic nuns ruled Paddock House Convent Grammar in Accrington with a rod of iron and although my parents were absolutely thrilled that I passed my 11 plus and won a place, I have mixed memories of my time there. My brothers all went to St Theodore s High in Burnley but my sister, Linda, followed in my footsteps. It was a good school, the sort of education parents were grateful for and it prepared you well for life, but it was awfully strict and I was ready to leave when I did. I finished at 16 then went on to college, where I studied Art & Design.
