Uzma Wins Malaysian LNG Import Licences
Malaysian firm Uzma has secured licences to bring LNG into Malaysia and distribute the regasified supply, the company said in a filing on the Bursa Malaysia on February 17.
The licences permit Uzma to supply LNG into and within Malaysia by any means other than transhipment, and transport or distribute gas via regasification terminal or pipelines to consumers, under a third-party access system. They are valid for 10 years. Uzma Group is excited to embark on the new opportunity within the LNG space and to play a role in ensuring the country’s energy needs are met, Uzma CEO Datuk Kamarul Redzuan said in a statement distributed by local press. These licences will enable Uzma Group to continue to support the Malaysian energy sector and diversify our business further downstream.
