CAPITAN– Capitan, New Mexico is the home to the Oso Grill that, before COVID-19 canceled the New Mexico State Fair, had a winning streak in the best Green Chile Cheeseburger Competition.
Oso Grill owner Brian Cleckler thought he had a good chance at continuing the steak for People s Choice (three years in a row) and the Judge s Choice (two years in a row).
As local businesses begin to benefit from loosened public health emergency restrictions under New Mexico s red-to-green framework, the public can instead enjoy the award-winning burger at the Oso Grill located at 100 Lincoln Avenue in Capitan.
Cleckler has owned Oso Grill for almost six years, though he s been in Lincoln County for 20 years and the restaurant industry just as long.

Having more time to write has been great for me because I am crossing back into this lane that I’ve missed so much.”
