A drug trafficker who ran a distribution depot for a major Class A drug supply operation from an Aberdeen flat has been jailed for six years and three months on Tuesday.
Scott Roddie, 29, paid the bulk of the rent on the property where quantities of ecstasy were delivered with customers placing orders via an internet website and paying in the cryptocurrency bitcoin. ....

Historical designation delays demolition of Pleasant City storefront

The Guernsey County Land Bank on Wednesday awarded a contract to Lehotay Excavating for demolition of a two-story structure at the corner of Clark Street and Beatty Avenue in Cambridge.
The nearly three-year project to acquire and raze the former residence is expected to be completed in the next month after board member Kim Conrath confirmed the deed is in the name of the land bank.
I never thought I would see the day, said Cambridge Mayor Tom Orr.
The demolition contact awarded to Lehotay totals $21,500. It was the lone bid submitted for the project. ....

Oliver Mills accused of assault and death threat in Brighton


Lewes Crown Court.
Oliver Cyril Mills was charged by police over incidents in Brighton.
He is accused of assault occasioning actual bodily harm on Gemma Carter.
The 39-year-old is also accused of criminal damage to ceramics during an alleged incident on March 11 this year.
At Lewes Crown Court it was also claimed he made a threat to kill Ms Carter, and that she feared the threat would be carried out.
Mills, of Beatty Avenue, Brighton, spoke to confirm his name during the ten-minute hearing and pleaded “not guilty” to the three charges.
He was represented by barrister Rebecca Upton during the hearing, while Edward Hand represented the Crown Prosecution Service. ....

IN THE Fifties, Brighton mothers flocked to the “blue shed” in Beatty Avenue, opposite Coldean School, where baby products, were given out.
This evocative Argus archive picture was taken in 1952, a time when rationing was still in force and times were hard.
Pregnant women and new mothers received additional items to supplement their rations, including dried milk and orange juice.
