THE Ipswich Knights have three added reasons to advance in the FFA Cup competition by beating Souths at Bundamba on Friday night.
The first is getting another good crowd along after the terrific atmosphere during their recent 2-0 Tuesday night victory over Moggill at the same ground.
It was a great night the other night. The best crowd I ve seen there in a number of years, said head coach Andy Ogden.
He hopes another well-supported home game can help the Knights build momentum.
Returning to Eric Evans Reserve for the fifth round clash, Ogden also wants a win to cleanse any scars from last weekend s 6-0 defeat to Brisbane City in the Football Queensland Premier League 1 match. ....

AS one Ipswich team was receiving a valuable lesson, another regional side was clicking up a gear after recent disruptions.
The latest football games involving the Ipswich Knights and Western Spirit couldn t be more different.
Fresh from a 2-0 FFA Cup victory over Moggill, the Knights were outclassed 6-0 by Football Queensland Premier League 1 competition favourites Brisbane City on Saturday night.
While the Knights were completely shut-out at Perry Park, Spirit s players were determined to secure their second win of the season after losing 7-2 to Brisbane Knights in their previous game three weeks earlier.
Western Spirit put the washout issues behind them to upstage The Gap 5-0 in their Brisbane Premier League encounter at Walton Bridge Reserve. ....

HAVING won three Gold jackets in a row, accomplished cricketer Harry Wood is a fine choice as a local hero .
That s a new role Wood will fulfil in coming weeks having joined the Western Power franchise fielding a range of teams in the newly-formed Brisbane Premier League (BPL) T20 competition.
With strong Ipswich ties and a proud country heritage, Laidley-bred Wood will encourage junior cricketers and help promote Western Power in the inaugural five-week amateur series starting in August.
While yet to decide if he will play in the BPL, the Ipswich Hornets most consistent batsman appreciated another prestigious honour. ....
