Excavators hauled masses of tangled metal as construction crews raced to demolish Pikes Peak s 1964 Summit House and add finishing touches to the mountain s brand new Pikes Peak Summit Visitor Center, set to open to the public June 24. Since June 2018 construction crews labored away at the Summit Complex, a $65 million project designed to update the top of America s mountain. But construction crews continue to stay busy as they slide into the home stretch before the celebratory ribbon cutting June 30.
