JE Social and Service Club assisted Singing River Health System and Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency with a special initiative to help spread awareness across the Coast to Donate Life Mississippi.
Girls apart of JE Social and Service Club packed the Pascagoula Senior Center to learn more about how organ, eye, and tissue donations save lives. MORA Community Outreach Coordinator Trisha Byrd said, “Over 100,000 people in the United States are waiting for a life-saving transplant. On average, 20 people will pass away every day waiting on a transplant and every ten minutes a new person is added to the list.”
The Pascagoula Fire Department hosted a senior health and safety fair for adults 55 years of age and older at the Pascagoula Senior Center. Community Invited to 34th Annual Media for Red Cross Blood Drive
Helping to save lives is a Gulf Coast tradition since 1988
BILOXI, Miss. (May 21, 2021) Since 1988, the American Red Cross has partnered with local media to help maintain a substantial summer blood supply. The community is invited to celebrate summer and help save lives at the 34rd annual Media for Red Cross Blood Drive Tuesday, June 21 through Saturday, June 23 at multiple locations on the Gulf coast. All presenting blood donors will receive a Red Cross T-shirt and other special treats, while supplies last!

The Red Cross urges those who feel healthy to make it a summer full of life by donating blood. Your donation helps ensure blood remains available for patients who rely on transfusions.
News Briefs: Pascagoula to host food service job fair

PASCAGOULA, Miss. The City of Pascagoula, in conjunction with Main Street Pascagoula, will host a food service job fair on April 30 at the Pascagoula Senior Center.
Restaurants from across the city will be on hand to discuss job openings with potential applicants On-site interviews will be conducted and, in some cases, on-site hirings are a possibility.
Applicants are encouraged to bring several copies of their resume.
“Our restaurants dealt with a lot of hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic and now they are struggling to hire staff,” said Rebecca Davis, Executive Director for Main Street Pascagoula. “We need to do something to help this industry that is so important to our community.”
The Pascagoula Senior Center reopened this week. It’s brought a ray of light to local seniors who feel like they’ve been in the dark since the pandemic hit.
