Rock Island Auction Company – -(AmmoLand.com)- The precise time and place of production is unknown, though the trigger mechanism and steel prod suggest production after 1400.
The prod is recurve steel, measuring 22″ across when strung, with decorative cord running across the front connecting a set of six multicolored puffballs, and the bowstring appears to be sinew reinforced with hemp cord. Securing the stock to the prod is a set of steel plates, with a connecting plate in the front with a large eye screw.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. A pair of pistols belonging to founding father, Alexander Hamilton will be put up for auction in Rock Island, Illinois on Friday, May 14th, 2021.
According to Rock Island Auction Company (RIAC) , the pistols will be accompanied by a pair of shoulder epaulettes worn by then-Colonel Hamilton while serving with George Washington during the American Revolution. RIAC also says the pistols were presented to Hamilton by his father-in-law General Philip Schuyler during the Revolutionary War and have been passed down within the family until they were sold in 1942.

The annual Western firearms auction was a success for all.
The auction included an assortment of edged weapons and six cannons. This field cannon, with a complete set of accessories, took top dollar among the big guns, hammering in at $9,200.
Rock Island Auction Company’s February event was a “personal best” for the auction house. With a record number of over 4,800 lots, totaling 8,700 firearms, the auction brought in $11,143,413. Two hundred different manufacturers were represented, but Winchester Repeating Arms Company was the star of the show, with a total of 943 lots. Nearly 30 of those brought the top prices of the auction.
