Barbara Elliston said business travel often requires last-minute flight changes, and the current MIQ booking system was only tailored to those abroad coming home. It was previously revealed MIQ slots were sitting empty because some returnees had been able to book more allocation vouchers than they needed. Elliston is currently trying to sell a patented NZ product – a hot water inverter – in Australia.
