A HUSBAND and wife team behind North Yorkshire’s first dedicated CBD shop plan to open three more stores in the next 12 months. Philip and Lisa James opened Hemp Well Ltd in High Petergate, York, in April, offering a range of CBD products which research suggests could help with common physical and mental health issues, including anxiety, stress, insomnia, chronic pain and arthritis. The new business currently employs six full-time staff members, and is expected to be the first of several high street ventures across Yorkshire in 2021.

New Study Uses Bio-based, Renewable Solvent to Extract Key Nutrient to Combat COVID-19
New research published in the ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering
1 journal used renewable solvent Cyrene
TM – produced by biotechnology company Circa Group from waste biomass – to extract two key phytonutrients, hesperidin and rutin. Hesperidin is a sought after natural flavonoid, which is also being looked at to help tackle COVID-19
2, as it binds to the virus’ key proteins and counteracts cell-damaging effects triggered by infection and inflammation.
