Carriages Café, at Newark Castle Station, creates bags to improve well-being

A community café is delivering well-being bags to residents, writes Ellie Danemann.
Carriages Café, at Newark Castle Station, put together 20 bags of candles, hand creams and soaps ­— all supplied by businesses.
The bags also come with the book Explore, Expand, Engage by Philippa Bottrill — fitting the theme of helping each other through the coronavirus lockdown.

Project creator Wendy Baird said she hoped to deliver 50 bags by the middle of March.
“We thought it would be quite a nice thing to put these feel-good packs together,” she said.
“It comes with a CD that has wonderful songs about not giving up and continuing to be positive.” ....
