Asian Heritage Month and CBC Toronto is exploring Asian culture through its delicious food. This month we re featuring four GTA chefs, home cooks and a restaurateur. Each will dish on the cuisine of their heritage: West, East, South, and Southeast Asian. It s a big continent, see what s being served up coast to coast.
Our third stop is South Asia which includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. There are of course many influences that distinguish these country-specific cuisines, but common ingredients include ghee, chilis, assorted spices, lentils, and chickpeas.
