Nursing-Home Death Data Was Sought From Cuomo by U.S. Prosecutors

Federal prosecutors in Brooklyn sought data this month on nursing-home deaths from New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration, people familiar with the matter said, after state officials took months to respond to a separate inquiry by the Justice Department.
The prosecutors’ request seeks the number of New York nursing-home deaths due to Covid-19 and when and where they occurred, as part of a broader inquiry into the state’s handling of the pandemic in those care settings, the people said.
One person said federal prosecutors requested the nursing-home death data after Mr. Cuomo’s top aide, Melissa DeRosa, told state lawmakers last week that the administration had held off on releasing the information because of an earlier Justice Department Civil Division probe. State officials worried the information would be politicized by the Trump administration, Ms. DeR ....

Supplement Company Owner Sentenced For Selling Unapproved 'Steroid-Like Drugs'

A North Carolina man who owns a sport supplement company was sentenced to a year and a day in prison after pleading guilty to selling unapproved steroid-like drugs, according to the United States Department of Justice (DOJ).
Brian Michael Parks, 47, the owner of MedFit Sarmacuticals Inc., admitted in a U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia that he and his company had unlawfully distributed drugs that were not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) from Jun. 2017 to Sept. 2019, according to a DOJ statement.
Park and his company had unlawfully distributed and advertised certain drugs such as Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators (SARMs), Ostarine (MK-2866), Ligandrol (LGD-4033) and Testolone (RAD-140). The FDA has not approved these drugs as sport or dietary supplements. ....
