Something is up with the Astral Chain IP, but PlatinumGames can t say.
Astral Chain was one of the sleeper hits from 2019. It’s a great game full of weird moments, but that’s exactly what you might expect from its director Takahisa Taura who previously designed and worked on
Nier: Automata. Apparently despite what you may have read or seen before,
Astral Chain is now exclusively a Nintendo IP.
Astral Chain has been a Switch exclusive ever since it came out, but, as reported by VGC, PlatinumGames expressed interest in porting it over to other consoles. It seems like that will be highly unlikely now that Platinum no longer owns the property.
Platinum Games began teasing a fifth announcement for 2021 on its Platinum4 teaser website on Saturday. Game designer Hideki Kamiya spoke about an unnamed.

In just a few short years, Nintendo s handheld hybrid has pulled together an impressive catalog of great games across many genres and has even become a great platform for excellent indie titles. However, if you want the best game to play for your brand new system, look no further than The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Team Ninja s retweet of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Spirit Board event for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate could have interesting implications Posted by Justin AdaptiveTrigger Gordon • January 8, 2021 at 7:15 p.m. PST • Comments: 21
The latest Spirit Board event for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate adds the Impa (Age of Calamity), Master Kohga and Diminutive Guardian Spirits in celebration of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Though Age of Calamity uses Nintendo s Legend of Zelda property, the game was actually developed by a division within Koei Tecmo.
What s interesting is that the Tweet announcing this Spirit Board event has been retweeted by Team Ninja, another Koei Tecmo division. There s an implication here that suggests that Nintendo is working on something in collaboration with Koei Tecmo.
