Sunday Morning Crash Kills One In Canyon Country A crash in Canyon Country early Sunday morning left one driver dead and the vehicle “sheared in two pieces.” Just after 2:20 a.m. Sunday, officials with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Office received reports of a solo-vehicle crash on the southbound 14 freeway north of Sand Canyon Road, according to Officer Josh Greengard with the CHP. “Upon arriving on scene, units located a solo vehicle fatal crash,” Greengard said. “The initial investigation indicates the vehicle left the roadway and onto the right shoulder.” The vehicle then reportedly collided with both a metal beam guard rail and overhead freeway sign pole, according to Greengard. ....
