Wisconsin Special Olympic athletes return to the track for first time since start of COVID-19 May 9, 2021 4:17 PM Gabriella Bachara Updated: EDGERTON, Wis.– Wisconsin’s Special Olympics athletes are retuning to in-person events for the first time since the start of COVID-19. Nearly 100 athletes took to the Edgerton High School track Sunday morning for running, walking and throwing competitions. “I’ve been in Special Olympics for 20 years, and I love it so much,” Dean Garfoot, an athlete, said. “It’s great to be back because you get to be around your friends again and enjoy all of the competition.” Athletic Director Nicole Christensen said Sunday’s competition was a modified track meet where teams rotated through stations and completed events in smaller groups and socially distanced.

Mavericks get the sweep against the Cougars The Mavericks completed the sweep over Colorado Christian University (CCU) as they rallied late in game one to secure a win.  A seven run fourth inning for Colorado Mesa University (CMU) was crucial as the Mavericks got the come behind win in game one.  After the Cougars scored three runs in the third and fourth innings of the game. Redshirt sophomore Ellie Smith got the Mavericks on the board in the fourth and started the rally as she hit a two run home run scoring redshirt sophomore outfielder Lauren Wedman who singled to get on the base. 

FIB files lawsuit against former employees – Sheridan Media

First Interstate Bank has filed a civil lawsuit against seven former employees of its Sherdian branch.  According to a complaint filed with the U.S. District Court of Wyoming on April 12, on March 22, 2021 the seven defendants announced their intention to end their employment with FIB and work for a competitor, Glacier Bank.  Court documents state that “since that time FIB has discovered that the Individual Employees violated their duty of loyalty and breached the FIB Code of Conduct by soliciting FIB employees to leave FIB, misappropriating FIB’s trade secrets and other proprietary information, and interfering with FIB’s existing and prospective contracts.”
