If you were going to give $100 million to a charity or charities, which would you choose and why? How would you use that kind of cash to help other people?
You may have heard that, yesterday, after his space jaunt, Jeff Bezos announced he would be giving $100 million each to Van Jones, founder of Dream Corps, and chef José Andrés, founder of World Central Kitchen to “direct to the charities of their choice as they see fit.” He added, “No bureaucracy, no committees. They just do what they want. They can give it all to their own charity or they can share the wealth. It’s up to them.” Jones and Andres are the first two recipients of Bezos’ new Courage and Civility Award, which “recognizes leaders who aim high and who pursue solutions with courage and who always do so with civility.” (Market Watch)
