PUC greets PM, AJK people over PTI victory

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Ulema Council and all its allied parties have congratulated Prime Minister Imran Khan and people of Azad Kashmir over PTI victory in Azad Kashmir elections.
“What the people of Kashmir have done is the love and affection they have for Pakistan and they have demonstrated their trust in the right leadership and God willing the day will come when Kashmiris will get the right to self-determination,” said PUC Chairman and Special Aide to Prime Minister on Interfaith Harmony and Middle East Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi while addressing a press conference here on Monday. He said the incident of Noor Muqaddam which has taken place in Islamabad and the instances of violence that are taking place with regard to women in other parts of the country are regrettable.

IHCs, PCs to be extended ahead of Muharram, says Ashrafi

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman and Special Representative to Prime Minister on Religious Harmony and Middle East Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi has said the Interfaith Harmony Councils (IHCs) and Peace Committees (PCs) will be extended ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram for religious tolerance.
“The faithful of all religions and sects will work together to bring peace, harmony and stability in Pakistan and Interfaith Harmony Councils and Peace Committees will be extended ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram for promoting religious harmony in the country,” he said while addressing an interfaith harmony conference organized here on Wednesday by the Interfaith Harmony Councils and Peshawar Dices.

“Neither United Arab Emirates nor Saudi Arabia has asked Pakistan to recognize Israel,” he said while talking to newsmen here on Thursday. He said anti-Pakistan forces are worried following the improvement of Pakistan s relations with the Arab Islamic countries. Pakistan s relations with Arab Islamic countries including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Egypt, Bahrain, Amman and Iraq are improving with practical cooperation in different areas. Contacts are under way with Saudi officials on the issue of repatriation of Pakistanis.
