Dara O Briain and Alan Davies at Comedy Garden in St Albans | St Albans & Harpenden Review

Comedians will perform open air shows at a park in the heart of St Albans this summer. The St Albans Comedy Garden promises the “ultimate remedy” with five nights of stand-up comedy in Verulamium Park. From Wednesday July 28 to Sunday August 1, performers will include Sara Pascoe, Dara O’Briain, Josh Widdicombe, Alan Davies, Tom Allen and Rob Beckett. Each show will have acts featuring big names such as Netflix star Phil Wang, British Comedy Award winner Aisling Bea, Milton Jones, Taskmaster Lou Sanders and ventriloquist Nina Conti. There will also be podcasters Ed Gamble and John Robins, US comedian and television presenter Reginald D Hunter and the award-winning Sindhu Vee alongside rising talent like Maisie Adam, Sarah Keyworth and Darren Harriot.

Mammoth outdoor gigs this summer Brighton’s Comedy Garden is to return this year, featuring stars such as  Sara Pascoe, Dara Ó Briain, Alan Davies and Aisling Bea. The event will return to the city’s Preston Park from July 14 to 18, but as a completely outdoor event - not the big top that was used when the event previously ran in 2019. Organisers Cass Randolph and Will Briggs are also running the Greenwich Comedy Festival and the Bristol  Comedy Gardens along similar guidelines this summer. Cass says of the Brighton event: ‘We were heartbroken to have to cancel last year’s event.  But everything is in front of us now and we consider ourselves incredibly lucky to have been able to reimagine our event to suit these challenging times’.
